In this moment when we need to care for and support each other, we firmly believe that art has the power to heal. Three Garden Road, Central, under CHAMPION REIT, has once again partnered with the non-profit organization Social Enterprise Institute to present the 'Art for Inclusion Community Inclusion Art Exhibition' from now until January 2, 2026. The exhibition showcases artworks created by teenagers and ethnic minority students with special learning needs (such as hearing impairment, autism, etc.), spreading warmth and positive energy from Central to the rest of Hong Kong. We invite everyone to embrace the new year with a positive attitude and experience the beauty and joy of an inclusive life.
Cross-boundary Collaboration: 12 Art Jam Paintings
The exhibition features 12 paintings created by 14 young people from diverse backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, individuals with hearing impairments, and students and young artists on the autism spectrum, living in their own unique worlds. Under the guidance of Hong Kong artist Wayne Wong and the social enterprise wePaint, they envisioned a more inclusive, diverse, and environmentally conscious future for Hong Kong cities. The paintings were then brought to life with colors by nearly 380 tenants of Three Garden Road, Central, who participated in an Art Jamming session, interacting and connecting with these young artists. Laibah, an ethnic minority youth who participated, shared her feelings: 'Through the creative process, we moved from strangers to understanding, from co-creation to walking together.' All artworks in the exhibition are equipped with NFC tags, inviting visitors to scan with their mobile phones to listen to the artists' narratives, offering a glimpse into their inner worlds beyond the visual experience.
'Inclusion is as simple as sitting down together for a cup of tea and a snack.'
The exhibition revolves around three core themes: 'Inclusive Community', 'Sustainable Living', and 'Cross-cultural Exchange', presenting unique aspects and an inclusive vision of Hong Kong. One of the artists, Matthew Yu, lives with autism and mild intellectual disabilities, but he is also an artistic talent and a sports champion, having won gold medals in speed skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in 2013 and 2017. Another artwork, 'Same Taste, Different Lands', was created by Ahmad Rida Nisar, who was born and raised in Hong Kong. Rida's father is Pakistani, and her mother is Chinese. Growing up, she felt the need to bridge the two cultures: 'Inclusion, to me, is about sitting down together, asking each other questions, having a cup of tea, and sharing a snack. Instead of focusing on our differences, let's try to find our common ground.' Rida's artwork depicts two Pakistani and Chinese women enjoying milk tea and chatting happily because milk tea is an integral part of both culinary cultures! Connections between people often start with a simple resonance.
A 10-meter-tall Christmas tree illuminates the spirit of inclusion.
In line with the theme of art and inclusion, the 10-meter-tall Christmas tree at Three Garden Road, Central, shines with colors for the first time this year, symbolizing the unity of all colors, voices, and imaginations, embodying the concept of inclusion across cultures, sectors, and generations. The Christmas tree and the surrounding glittering lights on the stairs are now lit up, so don't forget to visit and capture memorable moments to conclude 2025 and the Christmas season.

Same Taste, Different Lands
Creator: Ahmad Rida Nisar
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Rida is studying visual arts, landscape architecture, and theater design, aspiring to become a versatile artist. Inspired by her Pakistani-Chinese heritage, Rida blends vibrant colors, bold shapes, and ethnic patterns in this painting, depicting a tea gathering between Pakistani and Chinese women, symbolizing openness and cultural exchange.
Shared Light Under Starry Skies
Creator: Matthew Yu
Matthew was diagnosed with autism and mild intellectual disabilities at the age of two. With his mother's devoted care and companionship, he developed a strong interest in art. He is also an accomplished athlete, having won gold medals in speed skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in 2013 and 2017. Through his artwork, Matthew wants to showcase the celebration of India's Diwali and Hong Kong's Mid-Autumn Festival, conveying the interaction and influence of different cultures.
Led by mentor Wayne Wong, four hearing-impaired students from Lutheran School for the Deaf created the 'Inclusive Community' series. The four paintings are linked by a consistent style, featuring bold colors and rich elements, vividly portraying their imagination of an inclusive community.
